About
Metriculous makes custom and retail typefaces. I’m Sheehan Sista, the designer behind the studio, based in Leipzig, Germany. With Metriculous, I combine my experience as an art director and graphic designer with the craft of type design. I see letters in context, as part of a design system.
For custom projects, my approach is to set the dials of character and convention just right for the needs of the project. I design letters to be as distinctive as possible within the bounds of their function. No convention for convention's sake. The same approach shapes my retail typefaces, right down to their pricing and licensing. If you can believe it, you don't need a specialisation in font licensing to get one of my typefaces.
I discovered my love for type at the HGB (Academy of Visual Arts) Leipzig, mentored by professors Fred Smeijers and Stephan Müller. It was an intense 3 years of learning about, experimenting with, designing and engineering a lot of letters. After a few years in graphic design and art direction, I started Metriculous in 2026.

Custom typeface
Commissioning a custom typeface can be complicated and expensive. I keep the process as simple as possible without compromising a bit on what matters: distinctive design and proper engineering, a set of beautiful letters that works exactly as it should.
Every typeface is tailored to the project’s actual scope and requirements, including only what adds real value. Learn more here or get in touch for a quote.
Pricing and License
Metriculous aims to radically simplify licensing. Retail typefaces can be licensed from Metriculous for a one-time fee. The licenses include the complete variable font (all styles), future updates to those styles, and are priced according to company size and social media following. You can use the typeface forever with no recurring fees. If the size of the company and social media following increase beyond the scope of your license, you will need to upgrade your license. There are only two licenses:
- Complete License
- Complete License — excluding logo and wordmark
If you are a design agency, this applies not to you but to the client commissioning the project. Read the EULA (End User License Agreement) here.
If you don't want the complete typeface, or you plan to use it for charity work, or you just can't afford it... send me an E-Mail and we will find a solution.
